Now For Level 1! The Ask Me Piano Pages Return

Back in February, we released our Primer Ask Me Pages—a simple set of printables that helped piano teachers spark conversations between students and their parents.

They were a hit.

Because when piano kids go home with a page that says “Ask Me About…”, parents stop getting vague one-word answers… and start hearing about note reading games, new concepts, and big musical wins.

Today, we’re releasing a brand-new version—Level 1 Ask Me Pages—themed to match our WunderKeys Elementary Piano Level 1A Method Book.

And they couldn’t come at a better time. As students grow, they tend to share less and less about what happens in piano lessons… which can quietly chip away at a parent’s perception of piano’s value. These pages bring the conversation back—and that’s good for students, good for parents, and great for your studio.

How To Use Our Level 1 Ask Me Pages

Each Level 1 Ask Me Page includes four boxes labeled Ask Me About…, where teachers jot down key moments from the lesson—maybe a new concept, a fun game, a big accomplishment, or a silly moment that made the student laugh.

Beside each box, there’s a date space so parents know when it happened. When the student brings the sheet home, parents have a direct invitation to spark meaningful conversations about piano.

Instead of getting vague responses like “I don’t remember,” parents can ask specific questions:

“Your teacher wrote that you learned about staccato and legato today—can you show me what that means?”

“It says you played a duet today—what was your favorite part?”

“Tell me about the game you played with the rhythm cards!”

These conversations do more than just keep parents in the loop. They reinforce learning, build excitement, and strengthen the connection between home and lessons—helping families see (and appreciate!) the value of music education.

Our Level 1 Ask Me Pages are available at the bottom of the post but first…

The Level 1 Book That Gives Kids Something to Talk About

If your students breezed through our Primer series and you’re wondering what comes next… wonder no more.

WunderKeys Elementary Piano Level 1A is here—and it’s loaded with everything you need to teach engaging, effective, and laugh-out-loud lessons from the very first page.

In true WunderKeys fashion, this book is anything but ordinary. Each unit puts a hilarious spin on a classic fairy tale—the kind of retelling that makes your students giggle, gets them invested in the music, and (let’s be honest) might just make you laugh out loud too.

Each tale is carefully crafted to introduce new concepts, reinforce skills, and make learning feel like play. With pedagogically perfect piano solos accompanied by sight-reading activities, lap-and-clap rhythm duets, game-based ear training, technical warm-ups, and expressive teacher-student duets all baked right in, Level 1A does the planning for you.

Teachers are calling it “the book I’ve been waiting 30 years for” and “a complete game-changer for student motivation.” Kids can’t wait to turn the page. And parents? They finally see what makes your lessons so special. Whether you’re teaching in-person or online, one-on-one or in groups, WunderKeys Level 1A brings the magic—and keeps the music going strong after primer books are long gone.
