Do your piano students read intervals as well as they read notes?
If your kids are like most, they probably recognize individual notes more easily than they recognize relationships between those notes.
And while there is really no substitute for teaching your kids to read notes, teaching them to recognize intervals should be a very close second.
Kids can’t crunch notes forever.
To continue with their development, they will need to recognize intervals as naturally as they can read notes.
Today we have created Cut And Play Interval Sorts for your level 1 piano students.
After watching your kids play with this activity, you’ll probably want to make Cut And Play Sorts a weekly activity.

Are You Using WunderKeys Elementary Piano Level 1?
If your piano students have reached a level 1 method book, they have probably been in lessons for a year or two and the initial shine of the musical experience may have worn off.
If their level 1 method books are pedagogically weak and uninspiring, they will not stick with piano lessons long enough to make it to a level 2 method book.
So, for the sake of your studio, now is a wonderful time to reassess your level 1 method book, and if it doesn’t make your students wildly excited to be playing the piano, it might be time to switch to the WunderKeys Elementary Piano Level 1 program!

In today’s activity your students will reinforce their abilities to recognize, compare, and contrast intervals of a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
