In the piano teaching world, the little extras make all the difference.
Whether it’s doing monthly five-minute report cards, writing recital follow-up emails, or sending summer piano postcards, the teachers who go just that bit further guarantee themselves full studios.
In today’s post, we are sharing summer piano postcards that you can send to your students to let them know you care.
They are a simple check-in tool with the sole purpose of making kids happy… because who doesn’t like getting something delightful in the mail?!
If you can spare a few moments in July or August, print today’s postcards, fill in the relevant details, and pop them in the mailbox.

A Few More Summer Housekeeping Tasks For Piano Teachers
While we all like to shut down right now, the life of a piano teacher gets so much easier if we take time for a few important summer studio tasks.
In addition to sending today’s piano postcards, you may want to consider doing the following:
1. Welcome Back From The Wunderbies
If you use the WunderKeys Method Books, send your students these two letters from the Wunderbies.
In each letter, the characters share the fun they had this summer, along with a message letting your students know how excited they are to meet them in piano lessons again.
Printing and mailing these letters is a very simple gesture that will bring joy to your students and a ton of positive attention to your studio.
2. Back-To-School To-Do List
Are you already stressing about all of the tasks that you will have to accomplish before piano lessons begin?
If so, print off this To-Do List, stick it to your fridge, and check it out a few weeks from now 🙂
3. Mid-Summer Piano Studio Message
Mid-summer is the perfect time to resend start-up reminders to your entire studio and avoid a flood of messages that will require responses. Right now, families are relaxed, set in their summer routines, and ready to read an email from their piano teacher.
But do you really want to steal time away from your summer to compose a thoughtful studio email? Of course not… which is why we have written the email for you!
In this post, we are sharing a mid-summer email template that you can “copy and paste” with a few tweaks to send to your piano families so everyone has a smooth start to the school year.
4. Send Your Students These Summer Workbooks
Do you have piano students who struggle with note reading? If so, summer is the perfect time to overcome this hurdle.
When kids return to lessons in the fall, the last thing you want to do is waste precious time reviewing note reading.
So, before you begin another year of lessons, encourage your struggling note readers to pick up Andrea and Trevor Dow’s Timed Note Reading Tests For Piano.
