When students return from summer break I want them to be overflowing with musical excitement.
But sometimes, those first few lessons back can be a little awkward. Usually, this is because some kids feel a tad guilty that they haven’t practiced all summer.
They may even feel like they have let you down!
Since I don’t want any student ever to feel this way, we’re sharing summer DIY note reading flashcards for five minutes of daily practice.
While piano practice over the summer is a struggle, five minutes with our flashcards is always attainable.

When kids return to lessons in the fall, the last thing you want to do is waste precious time reviewing note reading.

Today’s flashcards have note names on the front and blank note staves on the back. To begin, your students must print a note image from the C 5-finger scales on the back of each card that matches the corresponding note name on the front.
When finished, your students will have their very own set of note reading flashcards that can be used for daily practice.
