Santa is having a summer.
Not a North Pole summer.
A full-on “school’s out, backpack on, where are my flip-flops?” summer.
Today’s Christmas in July piano printable may be the silliest thing your Primer 2 students see all week.
In this playful parody of Away In A Manger, Santa trades sleigh bells for school’s-out excitement. The tune feels familiar. The lyrics feel wonderfully ridiculous. And suddenly, your students have a reason to giggle, sing, and play with purpose.
Because summer lessons need this kind of energy. Check it out below.
Definitely Not Away In A Manger is a low-prep lesson win that can be used as a summer sight-reading piece, a quick camp activity, a lesson-ending laugh, or a take-home surprise.
Students can play through the parody and spot the moments they recognize from Away In A Manger.
You can also invite students to sing the lyrics as they play. This keeps the steady beat honest and turns the whole piece into a little performance moment.
You can download today’s piano piece at the bottom of the post but first…
Get Your Beginner Books Ready Before Lessons Resume
Summer break has a funny way of moving faster than it should.
One minute, your studio is catching its breath. The next, new piano families are emailing, schedules are filling, and brand-new beginners are getting ready to walk through your studio door.
If you’ll be welcoming new learners when lessons resume, summer is the perfect time to take a fresh look at the recently updated second editions of our WunderKeys Primer Piano Series.
Released last year, these refreshed editions include almost double the music, brand-new illustrations, and upgrades that make the books more engaging for students and easier to teach from week to week.
So, while your studio is in summer mode, take a few minutes to get your beginner materials ready before the back-to-lessons rush begins.
