I love the little snippets of exercises. Students experience success quickly where sometimes their songs take longer to master. I have started 3 students in this book and we are only a few pages in, but it is already helping to solidify concepts and build confidence. It also gives them a chance to work on other concepts, such as hand position and firm fingers since the notation is quickly learned.
