Why Use Note Reading Mazes?
Learning to read music notes is essential, but “drill and repetition” needs to be supported by activities that add variety. That’s where our note reading mazes come in! These mazes offer an alternative method of learning that taps into different types of intelligence. Whether your students are visual learners, love problem-solving, or just need a break from traditional practice, these mazes are perfect.
How to Play:
This activity is simple to set up and play:
- Pick a note name displayed in the maze.
- Find the box with the matching note image.
- Use a colored pencil to trace a path from the note name to the note image.
- Choose a new note name and a different colored pencil for the next round.
Your students will love the challenge, and you’ll love how the mazes help reinforce their note reading skills in a fun way. You can download today’s mazes at the bottom of the post.
