A Fast Finger Number Game And A Slimy Songbook

Is there anything better than teaching tiny piano students? For 30 minutes you can forget about your grown-up problems and just have fun!

There are few careers that take you back to your childhood. But, with the right materials, games, and books, piano teachers get to experience that joy all over again.

When Trevor and I create piano resources we try our best to make sure they bring as much happiness to teachers as they do to students.

And we hope our next two resources will continue to make you smile.

First, we are excited to announce that Glissando and the Slimy Songbook, V. U. Level A is coming next week.

This hilarious pre-reading book uses Wunder Dot Notation to allow your youngest students to play pre-reading melodies on the black keys before they learn traditional rhythmic notation. We are very excited to share it with you 🙂

Second, to celebrate the upcoming release of Glissando and the Slimy Songbook, today we are sharing a fast-paced, snail-themed finger number game for your early primer students.

First, Let’s Talk About Next Week’s Book Release

Today’s fast-paced finger number game is available at the bottom of the post, but first…

There is simply no substitute for a brilliant pre-reading piano book. A young student’s first experience with piano music lays the foundation for future learning.

So, Trevor and I felt a lot of pressure when creating the Level A resource for Andrea and Trevor Dow’s Very Useful Piano Library.

Fortunately, we work well under pressure. And the result is a pre-reading piano book that makes us very proud!

As mentioned, next week we are releasing Glissando and the Slimy Songbook, V. U. Level A.

The music in this book is composed on the Wunder Staff using Wunder Dot Notation. Wunder Dots are finger number symbols that allow students to play pre-reading melodies on the black keys before they learn traditional rhythmic notation.

Following the tale of an adorable snail in search of a new shell, your tiny students will fall in love with Glissando as they learn to play simple melodies on the black keys.

Be sure to look for Glissando and the Slimy Songbook next week on Amazon.
