I used to teach piano to a primer student who was a one-man wrecking crew. After 30 minutes, he would leave a path of destruction on his way out the door.
This was years ago, before I had children of my own, and before I really knew how to parent young kids.
Despite my inexperience, I did have a trick or two that could keep him calm and teach him some music along the way 🙂
Like many little kids his age, he loved diggers and dump trucks. So, when his lesson time roiled around, my music studio became a construction site. And it worked like a charm.
If you also teach rambunctious piano students, or perfectly polite piano students who happen to love construction sites, they are going to be thrilled with today’s activity.
Note Reading Road Crew is a piano board game that reinforces middle C note reading in the bass clef.
