Sham-Rock Your Piano Lessons!
At least once a month you should find a reason to surprise your piano students by taking a break from the standard lesson routine.
Special days like Valentine’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day are a wonderful way to share some exciting activities while taking this break from the status quo.

Activity 1 (Preschool): St. Patrick’s Day Keyboard Awareness
In this activity your students will practice recognizing and playing groups of two black keys and groups of three black keys. It is a very gentle introduction to sight reading that is perfect for preschool piano students.
Activity 2 (Primer): Shamrock Shake
Shamrock Shake is a fun way to improve your students’ recognition of finger numbers. Laminate the activity so you can use it over and over again. And be sure to challenge your kids to see how quickly they can tap out each row.
Activity 3 (Level 1B): St. Patrick’s Ear Training Game
In this activity your piano students will have a blast attempting to reach the pot of gold as they listen for major and minor chords while they scoot around the game board.
