Note Reading Clip Cards For Kids Who Can’t Sit Still

Piano teachers can learn a lot from students who just can’t sit still.

Kids who hop, slide, bounce, rattle, and roll around on the piano bench are a physical representation of what ALL kids are feeling after sitting for too long.

You probably have an antsy child in your studio. And you probably also have the exact opposite: a child who can sit very still for 30 minutes.

But in truth, both of these kids are the same; one is antsy on the outside and the other is antsy on the inside.

At the bottom of today’s post, we are sharing a hands-on, note reading activity that will keep ALL kids learning as they burn some energy away from the piano bench.

Middle C Note Reading For Piano

Did You Hear About Next Week’s Announcement?

Andrea and I are working on a big new project… a very useful project that is about inspiring ALL of the piano students in your studio.

Whether you teach kids who love diggers, pirates, mermaids, unicorns, pugs, penguins, or princesses, you’ll find next week’s announcement very, very useful.

Now, let’s get to our note reading clip cards…

Today’s note-reading clip cards have a construction theme and will give your students the hands-on opportunities they need to reinforce note reading in middle C position. They work well with the construction-themed activities we shared here on Thursday.

After printing and cutting the cards, instruct your students to clip a paper clip or clothespin to the note image that responds to the note name on each card.
