When it comes to making piano practice happen, teachers must use every tool at their disposal. Whether or not kids stick with lessons is almost entirely dependent on what happens when they leave your piano studio.
So, if you want your students to return to lessons having practiced every day, you’re going to want to use today’s printable tool… Piano Practice Bookmarks!
Piano Practice Bookmarks: A Surprising Multitool
Piano Practice Bookmarks are a handy tool because they inspire kids with a weekly goal, allow teachers to track weekly practice and, of course, mark the student’s current page.
To start using this tool, first, print out our piano practice bookmarks (click the link that follows the image below). Next, cut out and laminate the individual bookmarks. This will allow students to track their practice week after week without requiring a new bookmark. Finally, distribute the bookmarks to your students and ask them to record their weekly practice by placing a check (with a dry erase pen) in the appropriate circle on their bookmarks after completing daily practice sessions.
When your students return the following week, check for completed bookmarks and then wash off your students’ markings and encourage them to track their practice sessions again.
A fabulous teacher in our WunderKeys Facebook Community first shared this idea – thank you, Ellen!
