Teaching note reading using guide notes is a “wunderful” tool to help struggling note readers. Once guide notes are learned and memorized, they become friendly little beacons on the staff, calling out to your students, “It’s okay! You know me!”
While different teachers use different notes as “guides”, our WunderKeys Method books focus on three notes that we think are particularly important… Bass F, Middle C and Treble G. We call these notes, Wunder Notes.
The printable we’re sharing today will help your students recognize these Wunder Notes and set them off on a path to note-reading success. You can use it as a standalone activity or with Lesson 1 in WunderKeys Primer Piano Book 2.
